Report from DREMA 2024: Innovations and Trends in the Wood and Furniture Industry

The DREMA fair is undoubtedly the most important and highly anticipated event in the wood and furniture industry in Poland and Central-Eastern Europe. The 2024 edition not only addresses the current challenges faced by the sector but also serves as an excellent opportunity to promote the achievements of the Polish wood and furniture industry. This year’s fair showcases innovative solutions that are shaping the future of the industry. To learn more about the latest trends and technologies, we asked Sebastian Pokorski, Senior Project Engineer at ANIRO, a few key questions regarding the current and future challenges in the field of robotics and automation.

Modern ANIRO Solutions at the DREMA Fair

At this year’s fair, ANIRO proudly presents our latest solutions, including a grinding cobot, which is an excellent example of a modern approach to robotics. Cobots, or collaborative robots, are designed to work closely alongside humans. Thanks to their advanced construction, cobots automatically shut down upon contact with a person, significantly enhancing user safety. Our cobot at the fair is the only robot without a safety fence, setting it apart from other machines showcased at the event.

Differences between Cobots and Traditional Industrial Robots

Cobots differ from traditional industrial robots primarily in terms of the force they generate. They are typically limited to lifting items weighing no more than 15-20 kg, which affects their safety but also their functionality in more demanding applications. In contrast, traditional industrial robots can lift weights measured in tons and achieve higher speeds. They are often equipped with advanced safety systems that automatically shut down the robot in the event of a threat.
Despite some limitations, cobots offer numerous advantages. Their ability to work safely alongside humans makes them an ideal solution in environments where human-robot cooperation is essential. In applications that require significant force or high speeds, traditional industrial robots may be more suitable. The choice of the appropriate solution should be carefully considered and ideally consulted with our experienced engineering team, who can help tailor the technology to specific needs and conditions.
At our booth, we also showcase an innovative 3-in-1 cobot head, equipped with three different heads and sleeves. This solution illustrates the versatility of technologies available on the market and their ability to adapt to various industrial applications.

40 Years of experience and a wide range of solutions

ANIRO, with nearly 40 years of experience in the engineering market, offers a wide range of solutions in the field of robotics. Our portfolio includes both large industrial robots and smaller cobots. For large applications, such as the palletization of heavy components, we utilize traditional industrial robots. In contrast, for smaller parts, we employ cobots that provide efficient and safe solutions in close proximity to humans.
The choice of the appropriate robot depends on the specific needs of the application. Large industrial robots, which require advanced safety systems, may be unnecessary for simpler tasks where cobots excel. At ANIRO, customers can count on comprehensive service, including robot sales, maintenance, operator training, and warranty and post-warranty support. As a representative of the Chinese robot manufacturer Han’s Robot in Poland, we offer our solutions with full technical support.
The solution catalog allows customers to familiarize themselves with our capabilities, but the final choice depends on individual needs. ANIRO is open to collaboration with both small and large companies, tailoring its proposals to meet the diverse needs of clients. This approach enables us to effectively respond to market demands and offer innovative solutions in the field of robotics.

The simplicity of programming modern robots

Programming modern robots, such as those offered by ANIRO, is significantly simpler compared to more complex systems. Advanced robots from other companies require specialized technical and mathematical skills, which can lead to serious issues such as damage to walls, tools, or conveyors. In contrast, the robots offered by ANIRO are programmed in a way that allows for easy and intuitive setup, minimizing the risk of errors.
Thanks to the simplicity of programming, ANIRO robots excel in various applications, including welding, where they can perform precise movements at a constant speed, significantly improving welding quality compared to manual work. Although the robots are technologically advanced, their use is easy and intuitive.
At ANIRO, we tailor our solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers. The benefits of using robots include the reduction of human factors, repeatability, and precision, which enhances production efficiency and facilitates planning. Additionally, vision systems installed on the robots expand their functionality, enabling quality analysis, reading QR codes and barcodes, and error identification. Compared to older Cartesian systems, six-axis robots offer greater flexibility, allowing for precise operations in hard-to-reach areas.

Collaboration with other systems and tools

ANIRO robots can collaborate with other systems and tools, enhancing their versatility and functionality. By utilizing cameras, the robots can conduct advanced analyses and inspections, which are more challenging to achieve with static cameras. Customers benefit from these advanced technologies to optimize their production processes and achieve better economic results.
